Meet Duravit: German Bathroom Design for American Homes
Duravit is a German bathroom brand known for clean-lined sinks, wall-hung toilets and design-led collections that work in American homes, too.
A German company with a long history
Duravit began in Hornberg, Germany, in 1817 as an earthenware factory making crockery. Today its bathroom range includes ceramics, furniture, tubs and faucets. Its collaborations with designers are a big part of its identity. Philippe Starck began working with Duravit in 1994, while Bertrand Lejoly designed the D-Neo collection.
That history does not mean every fixture is made in Germany. Check the individual listing if country of manufacture matters to your project. Read more about Duravit’s history.

Start at the sink: Vero, ME by Starck and D-Neo
Duravit includes Vero, ME by Starck and D-Neo in its Ready to Ship selection of top-selling designs. If you like a crisp, architectural look, the Vero 27½-inch wall-mounted sink has a broad rectangular form and one faucet hole. It can make the sink itself the visual center of the room. Check the spec sheet and required supports before planning the wall and plumbing.
The ME by Starck 24¾-inch wall-mounted sink offers another rectangular option, while the D-Neo 15¾-inch round vessel sink sits above the counter and gives a vanity a softer shape. With a vessel sink, plan the faucet height and reach along with the finished counter height. The sink and faucet should meet in the middle, even if the rest of the bathroom is still negotiating.

The wall-hung toilet: a different way to plan the room
Duravit’s wall-mounted toilets put the bowl above the floor and conceal the tank and carrier inside the wall. The exposed floor is easier to reach with a mop, but the installation needs framing and plumbing planned around a compatible in-wall system.
The Happy D.2 wall-mounted toilet is an elongated dual-flush model with a rimless bowl. The D-Neo wall-mounted toilet is a compact alternative with a rounded form. Both were among the Duravit fixtures Bath4All customers purchased over the past year.
Before ordering, check the bowl’s specification sheet for the compatible carrier, flush plate, seat and connection parts. A bowl listing does not necessarily include all of them. For example, the Duravit DuraSystem in-wall carrier is sold separately. Confirm the exact combination with your installer, including flush volume and local plumbing requirements.

Prefer a floor-mounted toilet?
The DuraStyle 2157010085 one-piece elongated toilet offers a more familiar floor-mounted layout with a 1.28-gallon flush. Lowe’s lists this model among its popular Duravit toilets. Before replacing an existing toilet, measure the rough-in from the finished wall to the center of the closet bolts and check the spec sheet for the seat and other parts you need.

For a familiar alcove bath
Not every Duravit bathroom needs a wall-hung toilet or a custom vanity. The Duravit No.1 60-by-32-inch acrylic alcove tub with right-hand drain is a place to start when the layout calls for a tub against three walls. Confirm the drain location from the product drawing and measure the framed opening, not just the old tub’s visible edge. Check what is included and what must be ordered separately before installation.

What to check when buying Duravit in the U.S.
Start with the exact model number. Similar-looking sinks can differ in faucet holes, overflow configuration and mounting method. Toilets may require a separate seat and carrier, and tubs may need a drain ordered separately. Compare the dimensions and installation instructions for the exact SKU with your space and your plumber’s plan.
