• What if my order arrives damaged?
While we take great care in the packaging and handling of orders, we ask that customers inspect all shipments within 48 hours of delivery, and in the rare event that your order arrives damaged, please send us an email with a photo showing the damages (so we can file a claim with the carrier), and let us know whether you prefer a free replacement or a refund.

• What about the seat height?
This is a Regular Height toilet, with the top of the included SoftClose seat approximately 15-11/16 inches above the finished floor. It provides the lower, traditional seating position that many users prefer. If a taller seat would make sitting down and standing up easier, consider a Universal Height model.

• Is the seat included?
Yes, this toilet includes the original TOTO SoftClose toilet seat.

• Will I regret not choosing a toilet with a higher flush volume?
Not necessarily. This Eco UltraMax uses TOTO's E-Max gravity flushing system, rated at 1.28 gallons per flush. Its 3-inch flush valve, large trapway, and extra-large siphon jet work together to clear waste efficiently. Flush performance depends on the toilet's design as well as its water use, so a higher gallons-per-flush rating alone does not guarantee a better flush.

• Can I use a Washlet bidet seat with this toilet?
100%. While this toilet is not advertised as Washlet+ ready - it's fully compatible with most bidet seats. However, unlike Washlet+ models, this toilet does not have a pre-drilled channel to conceal the Washlet's water supply hose and power cord.

• My rough-in distance is 11 inches. Do I need a 10-inch or a 12-inch rough-in toilet?
First, measure the distance from the center of the bolts to the finished wall (not the baseboard). With an 11 inch rough-in, you almost always want the 10-inch rough-in toilet. A 12-inch version might hit the wall, but with a toilet designed for a 10-inch rough-in, the worst-case scenario is you'll have about a 2-inch gap behind the tank. Note – Toto's 10-inch rough-in toilets have a .10 in their model numbers before the #.

• Will this toilet still flush during a power outage?
Yes. This UltraMax uses a gravity flush operated by the trip lever, so its basic flush does not require electricity. It can flush manually as long as the tank has water. An electronic bidet seat or powered accessories, if added separately, need electricity for their own functions.

• What is the practical difference between this one-piece toilet and a two-piece toilet?
This UltraMax has the ceramic tank and bowl formed as one unit, so there is no tank-to-bowl joint to clean around or separate tank gasket at that connection. It must be handled as one heavier fixture during installation. Flush performance depends on the specific model, rather than the number of ceramic pieces.

• Can I use drop-in cleaning tablets in the toilet tank?
No. TOTO advises against in-tank bowl cleaners because concentrated cleaning chemicals can damage the internal seals and fittings and lead to leaks. Clean the bowl separately with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft brush, following the toilet care instructions.
