TOTO toilet installation templates help you position rough-in adapters, side mounting blocks, mounting holes, and other installation hardware. When the paper guide is missing from the box, guessing where to drill can turn a straightforward installation into an expensive problem. Here are downloadable copies of manufacturer-issued TOTO templates for several current toilet families, with instructions for finding the right one.

The downloads include 12 mounting and wall-layout templates, plus a separately identified NEOREST NX protective/alignment sheet.

Start here: Find your exact toilet model and rough-in size first. Different TOTO toilet families use different templates, even when both are called “UniFit.” These PDFs are hosted by Bath4All for convenient access; the drawings and installation requirements are TOTO's.

Download TOTO toilet installation templates

The number printed on the actual sheet is the best way to identify a template. The model numbers below are examples from the relevant manufacturer documents—not blanket promises that one PDF fits every toilet in a collection.

UniFit floor-mounted toilets

Important for Aquia IV 10-inch and 14-inch installations: TOTO lists the separate 0GU182-1-A template in its Aquia IV parts manuals. We have not published that PDF because a verified downloadable copy was not located. Obtain that exact template from TOTO rather than substituting the 12-inch 0GU181 sheet. Also verify the matching UniFit adapter for the chosen rough-in.

Nexus 10-inch installations: The downloadable January 2019 0GU186 sheet marks 12- and 14-inch flange positions only. A current parts list may offer a 10-inch adapter; that does not make this sheet a verified 10-inch pattern. Obtain the matching TOTO layout before drilling.

Other floor-mounted and integrated smart toilets

NEOREST NX note: The H0C137 sheet is labeled for protective alignment during installation. Do not interpret it as a mounting-block drill template or use it in place of the toilet's installation manual.

Wall-hung TOTO installations

Wall-hung toilets are different from floor-mounted UniFit installations. The carrier, finished-wall thickness, flush system, and any WASHLET electrical/water connections must be installed according to the correct system instructions. Do not use a floor-mounted toilet template to place a wall-hung carrier.

How to use a TOTO UniFit installation template

These steps describe the general process for compatible floor-mounted UniFit models; follow the exact PDF and installation manual for your toilet.

1. Confirm the rough-in. Measure horizontally from the finished wall—not the baseboard—to the center of the closet flange or its mounting-bolt line. Check the model's approved 10-, 12-, or 14-inch configuration and matching adapter.
2. Print at Actual Size / 100%. Turn off “Fit to Page,” “Scale to Fit,” and automatic resizing. Some templates are larger than letter-size paper; print on the correct sheet size or through a print shop if necessary. Verify at least one clearly marked dimension with a ruler before using the paper as a layout tool.
3. Align the wall reference and flange centerline. Lay the correct template flat on the finished floor as TOTO specifies. Check its finished-wall line and centerline against the actual fixture location.
4. Mark only the indicated holes. For example, TOTO's 0GU230 sheet directs the installer to mark six specified screw positions and locate the two mounting blocks. Other families can differ. Do not transfer hole spacing from a different model.
5. Drill only after a dry check. Check for concealed water, electrical, radiant heat or other services in the floor; use the correct bit and anchors for the flooring and substrate. Fit the appropriate hardware as directed by TOTO.
6. Install the adapter, seal and bowl. Follow the current TOTO installation manual for wax seal, UniFit connection, bowl alignment, side fasteners, and final checks. Do not over-tighten against ceramic.

Installation order at a glance

1. Check rough-in. Measure from the finished wall to the flange center and confirm the correct adapter size.
2. Mark with the template. Align the matching template’s references and mark only the holes indicated for your exact model and rough-in.
3. Drill and secure. Attach the mounting blocks and UniFit hardware in the sequence specified by TOTO for your model.
4. Seal and seat. Use a new seal and follow the applicable TOTO instructions to set the rough-in and seat the bowl. Do not move the rough-in after the wax seal is set.
5. Finish assembly. Complete the bowl, tank and seat installation and final checks as directed by TOTO.

If the plastic side-mounting blocks are loose and you have no template: do not drill based on a generic online dimension. Download the PDF for the exact family and rough-in, print it at full scale, then verify the screw-hole locations. This matters especially with skirted bowls, where the fixing points are concealed once the toilet is in place.

Which TOTO toilets need a paper drilling template?

Not all TOTO toilets require one. Many traditional two-piece toilets, including many Drake configurations, fasten to the closet flange with conventional floor bolts and use their model-specific installation manual rather than a separate UniFit block-position template. Skirted UniFit toilets, select integrated smart toilets and wall-hung installations often have additional layout requirements.

To identify what you need, find the complete model number on the order confirmation or specification sheet. Then verify the bowl model, rough-in dimension and mounting hardware in the manufacturer's current parts list. A WASHLET+ combination model may have a different full SKU from the porcelain bowl it contains; use the component information when matching an installation sheet.

How to choose the correct rough-in template

A 12-inch rough-in describes the nominal distance from the finished wall to the center of the floor flange. It does not mean that any 12-inch TOTO sheet works with any 12-inch TOTO toilet. For example, Aquia IV and Glaston use different mounting-template part numbers even though both offer 12-inch UniFit applications.

Likewise, buying a 10-inch or 14-inch adapter does not make the original 12-inch drilling template correct. Where TOTO specifies a different sheet, obtain that sheet before drilling.

Common questions

Can I print a TOTO installation template at home?

Yes, provided your printer supports the document's full physical sheet size and prints at exactly 100% scale. If it shrinks or tiles the drawing incorrectly, use a print shop. Always measure the printed reference dimensions before transferring hole marks to the floor.

Are the plastic mounting blocks always nine inches apart?

No. A measurement on one manufacturer's template cannot be applied across all TOTO toilets. The correct spacing is the one shown on the template for your specific model and rough-in. Guessing can damage the finished floor or make the side screws impossible to align.

Can I use a TOTO UniFit template for a wall-hung toilet?

No. Wall-hung bowls use a wall carrier and mounting/connection system. Download the layout supplied for the exact wall-hung system and follow its carrier and fixture instructions.

What if my TOTO model is not on this page?

Use the model's current TOTO installation manual and parts list to identify the specified template number. Some models do not use a separate paper layout. If the correct sheet is unavailable, request it from TOTO or your installer rather than adapting a template meant for another product.
